OpenGenesisLINK and OpenSimulator
Technical separation and optional interoperability without replacement claims.
Updated 2026-09-17
Independent platform with optional interoperability
OpenGenesisLINK is developed independently from OpenSimulator. It is not a fork. At the same time, an isolated Hypergrid compatibility layer is intended to support selected legacy interoperability scenarios.
| Area | OpenGenesisLINK |
|---|---|
| Core | own C++23 core with Core/World Node separation |
| Wire | own OGL Wire |
| Federation | OGL-FED as native target |
| Legacy interop | isolated Hypergrid adapters |
| Physics | own native physics kernel |
| API | HTTP/JSON API-first |
Principle
OpenSimulator compatibility should not architecturally constrain OpenGenesisLINK. Adapters may follow legacy behavior while native protocols are versioned independently.
Interop status
Only paths tested against real systems are marked compatible. Untested or experimental functions remain clearly labeled.
